Process. What do I need to do?
To help you visualize how easy it is to get treatment in Mexico with our company, we have prepared the following storyboard of the entire process; please take a moment to read it:
. When you are at home:
- You will fill out a questionnaire by pressing the “BEGIN PROCESS” icon.
- We will contact you to discuss your medical needs.
- Your case will be discussed with our local doctor, who is a specialist in the therapeutic area of your needs.
- You may speak to our Canadian Information Officer in Edmonton, with whom you may freely speak to learn more about the process, the quality of our services and any other subject that will make you feel comfortable and confident with our company.
- We will call you back to give you a quotation for your treatment.
- If you confirm your treatment with us, a 50% payment is required.
- We agree on a date for your treatment and arrange all of your travel needs.
- We would like to mention that your relationship with yur current doctor will not be altered. Your family doctor will continue to be your personal doctor and friend. Action Health's services will join forces with him or her to make available the treatment you need. If you authorize us, we will get in touch with your doctor to further discuss your situation; this will give even a greater rate of success to your surgery in Mexico and will even make it easier for your doctor to continue looking after your health when you return home. Action health has a Foreign Doctor Program that allows you to invite your personal doctor to perfom surgery in Mexico at our local hospitals. This situation is thoroughly evaluated and discussed with your physician, but it is something that we have the capacity to arrange.
. When you get to Mexico:
- On the airline, flight attendants will hand a ¡n Immigration Form and and a Customs Form, please fill it out while on the plane.
- At Mexico City' Airport you will go through immigration and then customs. There are visible signs along the way as well as engligh spoken airport personnel who can assist you at any time.
- A courteous Immigration Official will briefly check your passport and ask you the reason and length of your stay.
- Then you will pick up your luggage Customs. There are easy to use free carts.
- At customs you will be asked to press a button so that officials can randomly check the contents of your luggage. A red light means they will check it and a green light with let you through. Don't worry even if you get a red light, the process is courteous and very quick. You are allowed to bring along any personal item. If you have any doubt about this please CONTACT us.
- You will then walk out the main floor where you will be greeted by our company’s english-speaking associates. They will walk you to our car and you will be chauffeured to your hotel or to the hospital, according to previously defined instructions. At the hospital, you will meet our Action Health representative who will be your PERSONAL PATIENT ADVOCATE throughout your stay. She will take care of you to answer any questions, accompany you all the time and ensure that all of your needs are met.
- You pay the remaining 50% of the quotation.
- You meet with your doctor to review your treatment, analyses and confirm surgery.
- Doctor performs surgery or other medical procedure.
- You stay in the hospital for the recovery period as prescribed by the specialist.
- The length of your stay, including preparation, surgery and recuperation, depends on the surgery performed. But we will be able to confirm a very accurate length of stay before you travel.
- Please keep in mind that YOU DO NOT NEED a traveling Visa to Mexico. You only need a valid passport.
. When you get back home:
- When your surgery or treatment is over and you are discharged from the hospital, you will be chauffeured back to the airport for your return flight.
- You will receive several telephone calls from us to ensure you are feeling well and to assist you till you have recovered into your normal activities. If your post-surgery recovery time allows it you can take advantage of medical tourism. We can prepare many sightseeing and traveling options for you. We will plan all of this, together with you, before you travel for surgery. CONTACT us.
Quotations are done on a personal basis. We will always make customized quotations according to your individual needs. Our pricing will always include air travel (for patient and companion), hospital stay, surgery, medical and hospital fees, initial prescription medicines, hotel stay (if necessary) and follow-up, and touristic attractions if desired by you and allowed by your surgeon. You are also welcomed to bring a companion with you, if you do not have anyone available for traveling with you, ACTION HEALTH will gladly provide a Canadian qualified assistant that will accompany you on your trip and during your stay in Mexico.
You may pay with any type of credit card: VISA, MASTERCARD, AMEX, or DISCOVERY CARD, using methods that ensure secure transactions. We require a 50% payment before traveling to Mexico. The remaining 50% will be paid for at arrival in Mexico and it can also be paid with your credit card.
Please keep in mind that the cost of your surgery abroad may be paid by your insurance company. Please contact us so that we may assist you in this matter.
