QUESTIONS ABOUT DIRECT BILLING & INSURANCE?

We’re happy to answer any questions you may have about direct billing or insurance. Here are a few of the common questions we get from patients.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Wherever possible, we will direct bill your insurance, so you don’t need to pay out of pocket then submit a claim later on. We’ll take care of everything for you where we can. If your insurance provider does not allow direct billing, we’ll provide you with a detailed receipt so you can claim the expense on your own. Our detailed receipts will also help you claim eligible expenses on your taxes*.

Does Alberta Health Services cover the cost of my visit?

It depends on what type of care you need and whether Alberta Health Services covers that particular treatment. If AHS does not cover a specific treatment, then we will arrange billing to be handled privately by you or with your insurance provider.

AHS might not cover your treatment in some cases, but they may cover X-rays or other diagnostics if needed. We recommend you discuss your specific situation with your Action Health healthcare provider so they can explain how AHS criteria might apply to you and your treatment plan.

What if I’ve been in a motor vehicle accident?

Call us at (403) 243-8114 to make an appointment as soon as possible! In Alberta, you are entitled to a care plan to recover from your injuries, provided a qualified health practitioner assesses you within 10 days of the accident. This applies even if you were at fault for the accident. We have health professionals on our team who can provide the assessment required and address your injuries.
